Blessed to Serve.
GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS.
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.
OUR STORY
Here at Dayenu Ministries, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little encouragement & support. Since our founding, we have been determined to make an impact in the lives of others. The core of our efforts is to bring our team’s fresh ideas & passion to a broad range of activities & service projects. Through all our endeavors we hope to share the conviction behind our beliefs.
WHO WE ARE
Dayenu Ministries is a 501(c)(3), non-profit providing benevolent care to underserved populations. “Dayenu” (dai-YAY-nu) is a Hebrew word meaning, “It would have been enough.” The concept being that if all God did was give us life, “it would have been enough” and yet He has done so much more. God loves us & cares for us, even in difficult times, and wants us to enjoy and appreciate His blessings. It is more than a blessing to us to serve others. It is our prayer, that those we serve will feel encouraged and hopeful, knowing that they are God’s child, they are loved, and they are special.
Founder Darryl Cheeks had over 30 years in ministry as a pulpit minister in the church of Christ, founded a prison ministry & had many years of Board of Director participation & leadership for various religious organizations.
Through Dayenu Ministries, we seek to serve with need-based resources, volunteerism, fellowship, teaching and agape (love). Following are the groups we have initially chosen to serve: hospitalized children, domestically abused women & children, the homeless, veterans, elderly, first responders and incarcerated.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
We are small, but we are motivated. We make it because of the strength of our volunteers and our enduring faith. Dayenu Ministries desires you! Will you give us some of your time and creativity? And donations (whether periodic or monthly) are so very critical to our continued service. Please help us to help others.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Dayenu Ministries. We are able to journey on because of our faith and the needed dedication of time and funding from people like you. Should you desire to learn more about our ministry, call upon our services, and/or share our religious beliefs, you can reach us at hello@dayenuministries.org or 847.363.4015
OUR MINISTRY TEAM
Our team is the greatest asset we possess! The members of our ministry provide us the legs to carry out our service missions. This gives our team great flexibility to support our ministry. We lean on our supporters to provide opportunities for volunteerism through Dayenu Ministries - develop content for our blog, social media, research & compile resource guides for our various service groups, contribute funding to support Dayenu Ministries service projects and respond to the needs & requests of those we serve.
OUR MESSAGE
At Dayenu Ministries, we consider ourselves “Blessed to Serve.” As we seek to care for needs, we also desire to teach. Our ministry efforts combine both the need to meet the physical challenges of life as well to share the Word of God. We are motivated to show our love and care for others, not just with words, but through our actions.
What use is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. (James 2:14-17)

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
“Dayenu” is a Hebrew word meaning “It would have been enough.” The sentiment of dayenu is that if ALL God did was give us life, it would have been enough. And yet, God has blessed us with so much more and continues to bless us every day. Dayenu is an expression of gratitude for all of God’s abundant blessings & love for us.
HOW DO YOU SAY THAT??
“dai-YAY-nu” ...pretty good!
Try it again... “dai-YAY-nu” ...even better!
If you listen to the Dayenu Song (which is over 1000 years old, by the way) just ONE TIME, you will never forget how to pronounce “dayenu.” Check out this fun version of the song performed by The Maccabeats.
